Updates!

Phew! After what felt like FOREVER, the Interpol event is FINALLY over! 11 days of non stop work is scary, and crazy. I have a whole new view of weekends now - I have decided that i cannot live without them.

So.. Have a number of things to update. Shall start from the most recent.

78th INTERPOL General Assembly

I think this is by far, the busiest, scariest, craziest, and not to mention most irritating event I've ever done. This is madness I tell you. This event took up ALL the time I had for the past 2 weeks. I almost wanted to say a little thank you prayer to Guan Yin Ma when i found out that next year's Interpol will be held at Qatar, and not in Sg. *does a little dance around the room*

I dont think I want to put up any pics of our booth in case I get into trouble. It is afterall, a super High security event. I don't want find myself in a situation where one minute I was happily blogging and the next I'm in jail.

I DO have one picture which I think should be okay to post though. I just find it damn funny. So we were supposed to submit a passport type photo of ourselves for our passes. THe Interpol organisers were very strict about us submitting photos due to the high level of confidentiality and security of the event. Everyone submitted their passport photo except me. :) I don't have a passport type photo in my comp, and I was lazy to scan the one I had at home. So i search through my comp and found a pic which I was able to crop off everyone. haha. I was the only one with THIS kind of pic in the pass.

HaHA.


Anyways I'm am glad the event is finally over. 6 more events to go before the end of the year. I hope I am still alive to welcome 2010.

Mooncake Festival 2009

Then sometime back we celebrated the Mooncake festival. As per tradition, we met up to carry lanterns, eat mooncakes (and supper) and talk nonsense (we were each supposed to come up with a joke/riddle but as usual, ahmah was the ONLY one who was funny. She's born with the funny gene I swear. She doesn't even TRY to be funny. She is just funny. Its a waste she's not in Liang Jia Ban, which dear friend and I have been trying VERY hard to persuade her to join) We then gave up on the idea of exchanging jokes after Vernon shared a very NOT funny riddle/joke. I dont think it even qualifies as a joke coz NO ONE laughed.

Then one by one our candles went out. So.. we went for supper. HAHA. This is also tradition, in case you were wondering.

Some Random day at Kev's place

Can't remember when this was but i suspect it was one day before Mooncake festival. I vaguely remembered showing everyone the scars the cat gave me while I was playing with it when I was over at Kev's place. Everyone says the cat hates me. I believe that the cat was PLAYING with me. Yes, I truly believe that. hmph.

The cat in various obscene positions. Dont ask me where's the white cat. She doesnt seem to like me alot. This I would admit.






Pinchos

Then even a longer time back (I think), dear friend and I met up over a friday, after work. We noticed a pattern about the both of us. Everytime we meet up (when its only the BOTH of us), we tend to.. overdo whatever it is that we plan to do that day. For example if we planned to go shopping together, we will end up OVERSHOPPING and OVERSPENDING. If we planned a lunch/dinner date, we will end up OVER EATING (sushi tei, ding tai fung..) So, I guess its no surprise that dear friend and i OVER-DRANK at Pinchos. What was supposed to be a calm and cool night and a bitching session over a bottle of red ended up to be a drunk and stupid actions night.

We started our night at Ion. Can't remembered if we had dinner together or what.

Then we head over to Pinchos where we made friends with the manager and ended up having free wine with him, which eventually led to us being drunk. We havent been SO drunk and high in a long long time. We woke up to a MAJOR hangover the next day. In fact, the hangover was SO bad, it lasted till Monday (at least for me) Lesson learnt - dont go drinking alone with dear friend. :)

AHmah's Yeye's Birthday

Despite having a MAJOR hangover from all the wines we had at Pinchos, I managed to dragged my ass out for a MJ session, THEN to ahmah's place to celebrate Yeye's bday (where i did a lot of weird things, and said a lot of weird stuff)

The first weird thing happened over dinner. We were having steamboat. So ahmah fished out a couple of prawns from the boiling soup and placed them onto my plate, then she took a couple for herself. Still high and nursing my hangover, I immediately picked up the prawns and started peeling the shells as though they were taken out from the fridge instead of the boiling soup. Before ahmah knew it, i had finished both prawns. She looked at me with amazement and asked 'not hot ah?' And my answer was 'no leh'. I think I developed 'tie sha zhang' overnight. This went on a few rounds with her looking at me and me oblivious to everything besides the prawns on my plate.

Then after dinner, we watched the F1 race. That was when I did the 2nd weird thing. I was staring at the tv and watching the cars zoom past without much interest. Then I made a comment which had ahmah asking me if I was alright. I said, 'actually, the F1 cars not very fast what~'.. I know. WTF. Yes. I had no idea why i said that. Ahmah's response was 'shuiyi, 200++km/h.. why u think its not fast? Hor fun drive 160km/h you already scared like shit.' HAHAHA. All I can say is.. I was still having a hangover.
